This is generally credited toward your purchase at closing if the transaction moves forward according to the contract. 🔎 Inspections A home inspection is an expense buyers should plan for during the transaction. Depending on the property, you may also choose additional inspections. 🏦 Closing Costs These can include things like lender fees, title/escrow-related costs, and other expenses associated with completing the purchase. 💵 Prepaid Expenses You may also have prepaid items such as property taxes, homeowners insurance, or interest that need to be paid at closing. So instead of only asking: 👉 “How much do I need for my down payment?” Ask your lender: “What is my estimated cash-to-close?” That number gives you a much clearer picture of what you may actually need to have available.
